SOUND OBSERVATION 1
Setting: Red shuttle.
I hear the hum drum sound of the air conditioner behind me, the footsteps of two tired students walking up the steps; then plopping down on the synthetic leather seats. As the bus slowly acclerates, I hear the muffled engine roar, competing with the loudness of the air conditioner. The suspension squeaks as we go over the speed bumps and the student next to me coughs as he eats a bag of crunchy chips. The air conditioner’s sound becomes trance like as I zone out. The chatter on the radio snaps me out of the trance and the student next to me begins to coughs aggressively, again, this makes me alert.
